Impressive natural wonders, charming little towns or glorious sports venues, there is a suitable day-trip destination here for every taste. Combining your active holiday in Southern Germany with excursions is something that really appeals to everyone. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll, stop off at a café or simply enjoy the view, as well as immerse yourself into nature. Make your holiday in the Allgäu a real all-round experience of diversity!

  • Oberstdorf Ski Jump

Only a few kilometres away from our 5* Alpsee Camp Site and easily accessible by bus and train is Oberstdorf in the Allgäu. This place is world famous because of the 4 jumps tour. The Oberstdorf ski jump is always worth a visit during your active holiday.

  • Breitachklamm Gorge

Very close to Oberstdorf lies the Breitachklamm gorge, an impressive natural spectacle that you should not miss out on when spending your holidays in the Allgäu. Over 100 years ago, the hiking trail through the narrow gorge was opened right next to the raging water. In some places, the stone walls rise up to 100 m above you, virtually swallowing the daylight. From January to March, torchlight hikes are a special highlight of an active holiday in Southern Germany.

  • Kempten

Kempten is the next larger town near Immenstadt and can also be easily reached by bus and train. Numerous historical buildings adorn the town centre. A trip to Kempten during your holiday is worth your while at any time. The town hall, the basilica and the Bäckerstraße are the highlights of a trip to the old town. The Cambodnum Archaeological Park, which is dedicated to the Roman origins of Kempten, is not only worth seeing, but also educational.

  • Lindau and Lake Constance

A little further away, but also easily accessible by bus and train on holiday in the Allgäu, is Lindau. The picturesque island town of Lindau, on the shores of Lake Constance, invites you to take a stroll through the old town and go shopping, or to take a wonderful boat trip on Lake Constance.

  • Neuschwanstein Castle in Füssen

Not only romantics will be thrilled by a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle in Füssen. King Ludwig II's fairy-tale castle is considered a major work of historicism and is part of the World Cultural Heritage. It is a symbol of romanticism and some of the 200 different interior rooms can be visited on a guided tour.

Further excursion tips are, of course, available at the reception of our 5* Alpsee Camp Site in the Allgäu.
